Degree Show Ideas

Posted on 7 March 2008

Hello,

In the past few months I have been looking into the concepts of my practice, the idea, the material, the reason to produce. In January I handed in my dissertation that looked at drawing in the essence of making a mark from the body and from the mind. This was the largest piece of written text I had done and found the experience stressful to say the least! But the things that I reflected on afterwards was what changed my appreciation to artists and their personal practice.

Some of the work shown below has been submitted to the Henry Moore exhibition and New Contemporaries, and I intend to submit work to other exhibitions or shows as well.

Below are a few shots of what work I have been doing over the passed three months. It tracks the different concepts I have thinking about and how I want some of the work to be displayed. The work ranges from trace drawings, woodland paintings, shots in my studio, post-it notes of small drawings and mack metal installations. These are just testers for what I might want to show for my degree show in May.

Thanks for your time,

Ed.
